Out and About in the Community

Here I am with with former Fort Lauderdale commissioner Mr. Carlton Moore after his presentation at the Pompano Beach NW CRA community meeting held at the E. Pat Larkins Center. The CRA is doing great things up in Pompano Beach.

Zoning, densities, street spaces and facade improvements all in the works. Pompano Beach is open for business.

Also this week I was invited to tour the Old Dillard Cultural Arts Museum in Fort Lauderdale with curator Mr. Derek Davis and former city commissioner Mr.Carlton Moore.

Old Dillard, a cultural and educational center, was the first colored school in the city and is now a historically designated landmark and home to a prominent African-American history museum.

Old Dillard is a must see community space that is very replicable in other communities. I would love to see something like Old Dillard in Overtown.
