The Buzz about Songstress, Ruby Velle!

Here at K. Melanie, we're excited at the prospect of working with soul songstress, Ruby Velle.

Ruby Velle is the talented lead signer of the Soulphonics, a soul/ funk band whose influences include James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Cold Blood, and The Temptations.

The Soulphonics present a fresh new take on the re-emergence of the well established genre of live-band soul music.

The genre has been re-energized by the new sensation,
Amy Winehouse and the long-standing, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, "who are widely considered to be at the forefront of a revivalist movement that aims to recapture the essence of soul and funk music at its height in the late 1960s to mid 1970s."

Ruby Velle and The Soulphonics are currently working on their full-length Sophomore album to be released at the end of this year.

As a solo artist, Velle has been working on projects with writers such as Kristie Kaine of Kaine and Raine Publishing, producer/ DJ Mr. Mind of the Autobon Society, and noted musician/ producer, Wester Joseph.

You can catch this soul songstress in concert in Georgia and Florida with stops throughout the south.

Here's a clip of the single "Stand up," off their forth-coming album, captured by a spectator at a recent show. This girl can sang!
