3rd Annual Jazz in the Gardens

On March 14 and 15, I attend the third annual Jazz in the Gardens at Dolphin Stadium in the beautiful city of Miami Gardens.

Swarms of beautiful, sun-kissed people cloaked in white linens and sporting sandals and shades watched adoringly as the performers took the stage.

The event featured Chaka Khan, KEM, Chrisette Michele, The O'Jays, Nancy Wilson, Algebra, Wycleaf Jean and other soulful established and up-and-coming musicians. The Saturday and Sunday, day-to-evening event was well attended and as mentioned above, racked with top-knotch entertainment.

I'd have to say the hightlight for me was the lively and engaging performance by George Benson and following Chaka Khan, Wycleaf Jean wrapped up with a Hip-Hip infused performance that ended Saturday's show with a bang!

Launched this year to kick off the weekend festivities, was the first annual Jazz in the Gardens Celebrity Golf Tournament at the luxurious Doral Golf Resort. Many of Miami's top business men were in attendance to compete for the weekend's bragging rights.

Both events were masterfully executed by Producers Leon Saunders and Reje Showers of Concertz Events Management with Marketing and PR handled by Suzan McDowell of Circle of One Marketing. Worth mentioning, Horace McHugh and Ula Zucker, the fabulous Executive Producers with the City of Miami Gardens.

Tickets were reasonably priced, under $100 and well worth it. This years line-up far surpassed last years performers, with the exception of India Arie, Luciano, and Sergio Mendes, and I expect even greater things next year.

If you missed this year's festivities, be sure to mark your calendars for next year and for years to come!
